OiEau will be present at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), an annual meeting of climate negotiations bringing together delegations from 196 States, civil society and the media from around the world.

Our goal? To share the solutions that our public utility association, approved as an "Environmental Protection" organisation, is promoting, and to participate in documenting the debates, based on our experience of more than 30 years in water resources management, in France, in Europe and in the world.

Currently intervening in more than 80 countries, at all scales, from local to transboundary, OiEau provides technical, operational, strategic, organizational and legal solutions meeting the specific needs of a variety of partners and customers.

In a context where the acceleration of the fight against climate change is at the centre of the debates, OiEau will take the floor to recall the importance of issues such as the development of the stakeholders' skills at all levels; the sharing of data to develop knowledge, real decision-making tools; the implementation of effective and sustainable organization and governance models, and the close link between water security and ecological security, etc., for a good management of the water resources.

OiEau, which ensures the permanent Secretariat of the International Network of Basin Organizations, will also reaffirm the validity of the scale of national or transboundary basins, rivers and aquifers to carry out an in-depth study of all the resources (surface water, groundwater, biodiversity, etc.) and uses, and to involve the stakeholders of the territory (users, elected officials, administrations, civil society) in the decision-making processes.

Indeed, the basin scale allows the implementation of integrated water resources management (IWRM), which favours a holistic approach to a territory or a problem, and avoids the pitfalls of an accumulation of sectoral approaches.

In partnership with,

the French water agencies, The Nature Conservancy,UNECE, the French Water Partnership, UNDP, the World Water Council, the African Development Bank Group, the International Water Resources Association, the Green Climate Fund, theGlobal Water Partnership, ECOPEACE Middle East, SIWI, the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, GHD, etc,

OiEau and INBO invite you to participate in various events on important topics such as groundwater, nature-based solutions (NBS), water security and ecological security, transboundary management, water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus, financing of resilience projects etc., whose programme you will find her.
