OiEau, partner of the Limoges Water Sector Technical Centre (CTE Lim)

As part of the renewal of the agreement between OiEau and the Limoges Water Sector Technical Centre (CTE Lim), we interviewed Sandrine Parotin, former Training and Research Officer at OiEau and current Director of CTE Lim.
What is the CTE Lim and what are its missions?
The Centre Technique de l'Eau Limoges (Limoges Water Technical Centre) is an association whose main activity is the transfer of innovative technologies exclusively in the field of water. Its aim is to provide a link between academic research projects and the needs of water users, whether private or public.
It currently has three types of mission, focusing on the micropollutants present in water:
- The transfer of innovative technologies
- Participation in collaborative projects requiring a wide range of skills
- Technical expertise in water treatment processes: drinking water, urban wastewater, industrial wastewater, etc.
What are the links between OiEau and CTE Lim?
The association's activities were relaunched at the end of 2021 thanks to the commitment of its members at the time, including the International Office for Water, with the institutional support of Limoges Métropole. The impetus for this resumption of activity came with the signing of a partnership agreement between the University of Limoges, the International Office for Water and CTE Lim. This partnership formalises the interaction between the signatories: sharing of knowledge and skills, access to analytical platforms and processing platforms, systematically in the form of a contract between the 2 or 3 entities involved in a project.
What does the renewal of the agreement between OiEau and CTE Lim entail in 2021?
In addition to the partnership contract between the University of Limoges, OiEau and CTE Lim, the latter two have signed an agreement in 2021 formalising the contributions of each of the two associations to the other.
In addition to cross-membership, the agreement establishes that OiEau can draw on the new knowledge available to the CTE Lim on cutting-edge or emerging subjects: revision of the European Urban Wastewater Directive, developments in knowledge of micropollutants present in water, technological monitoring of treatment processes, etc. In this way, the CTE Lim can pass on its knowledge to teaching teams if required, and is able to take part in training days dedicated to water professionals.
Conversely, the CTE Lim relies on the knowledge of the OiEau teams to carry out collaborative projects. For example, OiEau has been involved in the subject of energy savings in wastewater treatment plants, as well as in the testing of a micropollutant treatment process, with these projects being managed by the ETC Lim.
